LENTEN SCHEDULE ST. EDWARD’S

Fasting is to be observed by all Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 60 years old. Those who are bound may take only one full meal and two smaller meals. No solid food between meals is permitted.  Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting.  Abstinence from meats is to be observed by all Catholics 14 years and older on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays during Lent.

Almsgiving: All donations to the poor boxes during Lent and at Good Friday collection will be donated to the Holy Land Franciscans.  Other Lenten tithes/sacrifices ought to be considered.

Prayer and Penance is meant to be increased over the 40 regular days of Lent, with aim of growth and Christian discipline of faith.  Sundays are regular “feast” days of the Lenten season.
