Adult Music Ministry
Cantors are visible leaders in our liturgies who possess the tools to lead our congregation in prayer and worship. They are responsible for inviting the assembly to worship, proclaiming the Responsorial Psalm and Gospel Acclamation, and leading the assembly in song as well as teaching them new music such as Mass parts or hymns. Cantors are expected to attend cantor practice once a month on Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Accomplished organists/pianists who can accompany cantors and choir are always needed. Accompanists have good sight reading skills and knowledge of varying styles of music including traditional, contemporary, gospel, and octavos for Holy Days and Sacrament celebrations.
Singers and instrumentalists are needed. We minister at the 1st and 3rd 9:30 a.m., and 2nd and 4th 11:30 a.m. Sunday Masses from September through May. We also minister on select Holy Days and Sacrament celebrations. JP Bailey helps direct the choir. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Bill Yates at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Conmigos Choir ministers at the Saturday 5:30 p.m. mass two times a month, once a month at the Sunday 11:30 a.m. mass and the 2nd Sunday 4:30 p.m. Couples for Christ (CFC)/Family & Friends for Life(FFL) mass. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays and Fridays. For more information about this group, please contact Manny Alega, email@example.com, or Virna Flores, firstname.lastname@example.org.
