Elementary / Youth Preparation

Preparation for First Eucharist and Confirmation for youth, typically elementary grade children, is done primarily through our CCD classes and special Sacrament classes.

Normally, First Eucharist preparation is a two-year program for those in first and second grades.  Normally, Confirmation preparation is a three-year program for those in sixth, seventh and eighth grades.

Parish Religious Education (CCD) classes are not just for Sacrament preparation. Children should attend classes every year from Kindergarten through the time that they receive Confirmation (typically 8th grade).

Once they receive Confirmation students are encouraged to continue their faith journey by participating in the High School Youth Ministry program. CCD is for all children who attend:

  • Non-Catholic Public School
  • Non-Catholic Christian School
  • Non-Catholic Private School
  • Home School
